We've been in the job-finding process for a few months now, but it's finally come to an end. Come fall 2009, Jeremy, Doctor of Philosophy, will be working at - well, I'll just let Andy Bernard from The Office tell you. It's more fun that way. You have three tries to figure it out. 1.
That will be an incredible place to live. But I'm very sad you won't be coming home to hang out with ME more. Why did that not figure in to your placement decision?!? Or perhaps it did...
Congratulations! Wow, Cornell. That is so exciting.
Also, I am glad to see that you like the office. That and Lost are the two TV shows that Matt and I watch. We have some seasons on DVD so it was the first song that Lily danced to.
Cool! I agree with Janae - I will think of you every week when I see Andy. Uh oh - what if they kill him off the show? How will I ever remember you then? :)
I didn't know where cornell is - but once I looked it up - did I tell you that we lived right outside of Ithaca for a whole summer? My husband was playing baseball for a minor league team inbetween Ithaca and Syracuse. Absolutely beautiful part of hte county and since you enjoyed MIddlebury so much this will be a great change!
That's awesome. John and I have had some serious discussions about upstate new york - it's so nice up there. You're going to love it. Sounds like a tough blog address to acquire though ..... :)
Very clever. Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteQuick - snatch up the blogspot address!!! :)
ReplyDeleteI can't get the audio to work, but I'm guessing it's Cornell... right??
Also (since I left it out of my 1st comment)...
ReplyDeleteCONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!! I am SO excited for you!

YAYYYYYYYYYYYY! Now I can make up for the ridiculousness that was me NOT visiting you in Middlebury. =)
ReplyDeleteI knew the minute I saw Mr. Bernard. Congratulations!

ReplyDeleteAwesome!!! I just want you to know that EVERY week that we watch The Office and I see Andy I'll be thinking of you guys!

ReplyDeleteCongrats. I bet it feels so great not having life so much in the air! I'm envious :)
ReplyDeleteWow! Congratulations! Let me know how the real world is, you know, like, with a job and everything. Is it any better than grad school?
ReplyDeleteSo this is the place you can finally put down roots? Awesome! I hear it's beautiful up there and your kids can enjoy playing in the snow! :-D
ReplyDeleteHuge congrats!

ReplyDeleteThis is bittersweet. Congratulations!! But a big phat BOOOOOOO for leaving us! I'm so excited for you guys!!
ReplyDeleteAnd what a way to announce! We love The Office and we love you guys even more!
I'm an 'Office' fan, so I didn't even have to listen to the audio. Andy Bernard's face gave it all away.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! What an exciting leap. I'm anxious to read about your adventures in Ithaca!
Yeah! No more Tucson!

ReplyDeleteTo be clear, "doctor of philosophy" just means PhD. So he did not get a PhD in philosophy. It's a PhD in Second Language Acquisition and Teaching.
ReplyDeleteAnd Matthew, he'll be teaching Arabic, if that's any further clarification (I'm not sure that it is).
