Downton Abbey 4.7 (SPOILERS)

Did everyone but me know Paul Giamatti was in this? How did I not know this?

Oh Edith. I agree with the Fug Girls that somehow, some way, her plot is going to involve Nazis. Maybe it's the baby. Maybe it's Michael. Which, speaking of: where is Michael? I'm beginning to wonder if his disappearance has a point, other than to make things miserable for Edith. Again. Well, her leave-the-baby-in-Switzerland idea sounds totally legit so I'm sure everything will go exactly as planned.

Hmm. Hmm. I can't decide how I feel about Miss Sarah Bunting. Poor Branson cannot catch a break, no matter what. Is this woman good-sassy? Or just annoying-sassy? I wish everyone would just leave him alone or let him go to America, as sad as that would be. Or let him be a firebrand politician. Maybe things are moving in that direction.

I continue to love Isobel Crawley almost against my will. First Dr. Clarkson fell to her charms (however inadvisably, last season (was it?)), and now this guy.

Breaking news: Molesley possibly has a bit of a backbone!

Oh, it's starting to drive me nuts with the Edith plotline. Just let her be happy dangit!!!

And Mary's gaggle of suitors were getting annoying too. But I really like Mr. Whatever his name from the government guy.

The Molesley/Baxter side story is a delight!

Okay--I'm caught up now. (Olympics distraction.)

Poor Edith. And I'm with you and the Fug girls. The minute they said "Germany" and "Michael" in the same sentence, I said, "Nazis." We're TOTALLY going to hear about up-and-coming Hitler at some point. Edith & Michael are the new Liesl & Rolf!

I'm having the same inner-conflict about Ms. Bunting. So far, I think it's annoying-sassy.

I found Mrs. Patmore to be utterly charming during this episode. "I couldn't be prouder if you were my own daughter." At what point is Daisy going to get a promotion? (Have you seen "Manor House?" Fascinating.)

Can't believe that next week is the finale, the series just seems so short!

Gillingham annoys me, he is so oily! I like Blake, but I feel that its just a passing flirtation. Cora's lack of observation when it comes to her daughters (and Rose) is driving me nuts. Definitely, not sure how I feel about Sarah Bunting. I like the Mosely/Baxter story, and maybe we will learn what Tom has on her!

Does anyone else feel that Mary and Edith's animosity towards each other is unrealistic? I have a sister and we were very different and have always loved and respected each other. To be honest, I have never met a pair of sisters that were like Mary and Edith are to each other.

I just have to say that I know a set of sisters that certainly mirrors Mary and Edith's feelings for each other. I don't find it unrealistic at all. Though I do hope it's uncommon. :)

Yeah, Mary/Edith take things up a notch, but I think the general dynamic is realistic. :)
