Desert Stinker

Jeremy ran a 40k race (Desert Stinker) the other weekend - 20k in the desert one evening, then a campout, then another 20k in the dunes the next morning. He got third place overall. Yeah.

They posted the professional photos today and I am smitten with this one:

Yes, my husband looks awesome, but don't you just want to dip a spoon in those creamed-butter-and-sugar dunes?

Congrats Jeremey! Those dunes don't even look really...like they were made up on photoshop and then someone just plotted a picture of some guy running down the street ontop of them! Super neat!...and obviously this is Crys not Jason but I'm too lazy to log him out. I'm sure J would also think these pictures are cool but seeing as he never even reads our own blog the chances of him stumbling across yours are almost nil ;)

Based on the title I thought this was going to be a post about a camping trip where Sterling had a nasty diaper blow-out.

Oh yeah, that's a marvelous photo. What makes it more marvelous is that Jeremy is the one in the photo!

Two things. (1) Silly question: Do you have to wear special shoes to run on sand dunes? (2) That photo is stunning. I hope it ends up in a frame. Soon.

Jen, those are normal shoes, but with sand gaiter attachments. Yes, there is such a thing.

Anna, that made me laugh, and it is kind of a funny name - I guess because they run and then camp and then run again = stinky?

That is completely insane. I cannot fathom being excited to run a race like that.

And the sand dunes - yeah, that picture is amazing. I agree with others that it should be framed!

Great performance and a great photo! I can still feel the pain from that run, what a challenge!
